Inclusion & barrier-free playgrounds

Play and exercise areas should be usable for all children - regardless of physical, mental or sensory disabilities. Inclusive and barrier-free playgrounds enable joint play, promote social interaction and strengthen children's independence. To ensure this, planning, implementation and regular inspection must be carried out with particular care.

As playground experts, we have been supporting operators, municipalities, kindergartens, schools and institutions for many years in the safe implementation of inclusive and barrier-free play offers. We know the practical challenges as well as the technical and normative requirements - and bring this background knowledge specifically into our inspections and recommendations.

What we offer in the area of inclusion:

Our background knowledge - your safety advantage

Our inspectors are qualified playground inspectors (FLL/BSFH) with years of experience in assessing playgrounds, fall protection systems and special constructions. We know the peculiarities of inclusive play equipment, for example:

- Wheelchair-accessible play and operating areas
- Jointly usable swings, carousels and rotating devices
- Devices with additional holding and support functions
- Special requirements for contrast, visibility and orientation
- Combination of classic and inclusive play offers on one area

In our inspections, we combine this specialist knowledge with clear, understandable documentation. Operators receive no theoretical standard texts, but practical recommendations that can be implemented on site - from small adjustments to larger renovation measures.
Our goal: Inclusive and barrier-free playgrounds where all children feel safe and welcome - and where operators can always prove that they take their responsibility seriously.

Why inclusive and barrier-free playgrounds are so important

  • Joint play with siblings, friends and classmates
  • Strengthening of motor skills, perception, coordination and self-confidence
  • Relief for parents, caregivers and institutions
  • A positive, inclusive signal to the outside: "Here, everyone is welcome."
